You are cordially invited to the 2019 Flying Scot Capital District Regatta be held at the Greater Richmond Sailing Association on Swift Creek Reservoir located southwest of Richmond, VA in Midlothian, VA.

1. RULES:

This regatta will be governed by the rules as defined by the current edition of The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) for 2017 - 2020, the Flying Scot Sailing Association Class Rules dated January 2017 and amended January 2019, Article B-VII, and the Racing Instructions of the Greater Richmond Sailing Association.

2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY:

a. Eligibility and entry will be subject to the Flying Scot Sailing Association Class Rules dated January 2017 and amended January 2019, Article B-VII,

b. Advance registration is available online for eligible boats at http://www.grsa.org/event-2472638. Registration must be completed by Friday, June 7th to avoid a late fee. Check in and registration at the regatta site will be available from 1600 – 1900 on Friday, June 28th, and Saturday morning, June 29th from 0900 until 1100.

c. Note: Registrations may be updated by contacting Kevin Bayes at 804-523-2900 during office hours.

3. FEES:

3.1 Fees are $90.00 per boat and include racing, continental breakfast and lunch for both days, socials after racing, and Saturday dinner for skipper and one (1) crew. Additional social/dinner tickets are available for adults for $15.00 each. $5.00 for children 6 to 10 years old, and (as noted below) gratis for children 5 and under.

4. THE REGATTA:

4.1 There will be a total of five races. Three or four races are planned for Saturday and one or two races for Sunday dependant upon weather.

4.2 One race will constitute a regatta.

4.3 The scoring system will be the Low Point System in Appendix A of the RRS.

4.4 Trophies will be awarded depending upon the number of entries in each class.

5. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:

Sailing Instructions will be available at on site registration and at the skipper’s meeting. Courses to be sailed will be described in the Sailing Instructions. Any changes to the Sailing Instructions will be made at the Skipper’s Meeting and posted on shore on the GRSA bulletin board.

6. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Friday, June 28th: Gates at GRSA open at 1400 for out of town arrivals.

On-site registration from 1600 to 1900. Snacks and beverages will be available.

Saturday, June 29th: Gates open at GRSA at 0700
0900 Registration opens
1100 Registration closes
1100 Skipper’s Meeting
1200 Warning signal for first race. Two to three additional races are to follow.
1730 Social
1830 Dinner

Sunday, June 30th: Gates open at GRSA at 0700
1000 Warning signal for first race. One or more additional races to follow. No race will be started after 1230.
1400 Social and presentation of trophies.
