Sail Programs Information for Members

Sign up for Sailing Instruction
Sailing instruction is available for all members, young and old and for various levels of experience.  The list of programs on this page describes our current offerings.  Simply get in touch with the Sail Programs Committee Chair to sign up!

Use of club boats
One of the great benefits of membership in the GRSA is the use of many club-owned sailboats.  In order to maintain a safe and operational fleet of boats, the Sail Programs Committee has specific guidelines for their use.  Please refer to the GRSA Sunfish Use Rules and contact the Sail Programs Committee Chair for use of the Albacore fleet.

Report a problem with a club boat
If you notice a problem, something missing, or have a question about a GRSA owned boat, please contact the Sail Programs Committee Chair.  Don't worry if you're the one who broke it; The important thing is to report the problem so it can be fixed for safety and usability reasons.  There's nothing more frustrating than being ready to sail and the boat's broken!

Sign up to adopt a boat
In order to spread the workload of keeping all of the GRSA-owned fleets in ship shape condition, the Sail Programs committee has developed an "Adopt-a-Boat" program.  There are a few general, seasonal tasks involved, and if you're handy with repairs, plenty of opportunities to help.  Please get in touch with the Sail Programs Committee Chair to see if there are any orphan boats in need of adopting.

Volunteer to help with instruction
If you can help in any way for any of the above-listed sail programs, we need your help!  This could include anything from being a certified instructor, to running out for subs at lunch time.  Please let the Sail Programs Committee Chair know if you can help with anything.
